Idea competition

Construction has started on a new site for the Estonian Museum of Natural History. We are planning to open our new core exhibition in 2027 in the biggest energy-efficient wooden public building in Estonia.

There will be an idea competition for the best possible conceptual solution for our exhibition. The competition will be launched in September 2024 and we expect to select the winner by the end of 2024.

The central concept of the exhibition will be The Art of Coexistence. We are looking for a comprehensive solution that engages our visitors, addresses all their senses and touches their souls, evokes different emotions and offers a spatial experience. The idea is that everything in nature is connected and we are part of it.

We invite the participation of creative groups with previous experience in narrative exhibition design and ignited by the ideas of contemporary museology, sustainable way of life and experiential learning.

The terms of participation will be available in the Estonian Public Procurement Register (https://riigihanked.riik.ee/rhr-web/#/) and in the Tenders Electronic Daily https://ted.europa.eu/en/ from September.

The prize fund is €60,000.
